Alyson Michalka is often compared to the young and successful Taylor Swift because of their similarities in talent. Alyson is a singer and songwriter, a pianist and guitarist, and has acting skills to boot. Among Alyson?s various roles, it was the one she played as Keely Teslow in ?Phil of the Future? by Disney Channel that made her famous. She also appeared in the feature film ?Bandslam? and Disney Movie?s ?Cow Belles.? Together with her sister Amanda, she is part of musical duo group called 78violet. They released their album entitled ?Into the Rush? in August of 2005. Their next album comprising nine tracks was a holiday album released in September of 2006 entitled ?Acoustic Hearts of Winter.? It was their third album ?Insomniatic? that hit America?s top 20 charts with their hit single ?Potential Breakup Song.? Currently, both sisters are working on their new album to be released in 2010.

Alyson Michalka was born in California but was raised in Seattle, Washington together with her close sister Amanda. Her musical talents obviously spring from her mother, Carrie, who performed with a Christian band named JC Band. Alyson learned to play the piano since five years old and has had opportunity to perform in church plays productions in her younger years. She is a devout Christian who practices her faith actively in spite of the fame that she has received to date.
