Blaze Starr




An 78 years old American former stripper and burlesque star. She was also known for her affair with Louisiana governor Earl long. In late 1950, Starr began a long term relationship with Him which has lasted till His death in 1960. In his will, long has own all of properties to Starr but it was refused by her.

Her striking red hair, voluptuous figure were her part of appeal. The theatrical flourishes and unique gimmicks went beyond established burlesque routines like the fan dance and balloon dance. Two of Starr’s performances, including the combustible sofa, are among the burlesque routines featured in 1956 compilation film Buxom Beautease, produced and directed by Irving Klaw.

She had dabbled in that occupation part-time, since 1975, and spent several holiday seasons. Starr retired , finally, from stripping for good in 1983. Her performances at Two o’clock night club, in 1950, became a headliner. Thereafter she rose to renown and hosted in1954 at Esquire magazine article.
